Now that I have finished riding 10000km on a Himalayan, it is time to look at the pros and cons of owning this motorcycle. What Royal Enfield has been up to, to fix the mega-debacle that the Himalayan has been for a large part of its first year of existence. The motorcycle has let me down a few times, but overall 2016 has turned out to be one the better riding years in terms of riding days. Under all the luggage in the image above is a Himalayan. So, that is good. Read the 5k on the Himalayan review, before reading this.
Most of our one day or weekend rides require little regarding luggage space. But, for an upcoming trip, it became evident that I would need a Himalayan saddle bag stay to figure out a way to load saddle bags onto the bike without fouling with the either the silencer or the rear wheel. I could either buy an existing one or build one from scratch.

Alright, Stormtrooper, the Royal Enfield Himalayan is home. It has been home for a while now. 535kms to be exact. These are my initial impressions and modifications to it. More from a fricking practicality point of view. Daily use report. Do not expect to see lifestyle photos, like the kind where people go 5 feet off the main road to make it seem like they’ve been riding dirt all day. If you’re looking for that, leave. Now.
