Plenty of BOBMC RiderMania 2016 photos from the various events, pepper this page. I am not sure if the order of these pictures is perfect. After a good rest from yesterday’s ride, things are a bit hazy. This is how it looked in the morning from our hotel room up there, as riders came in. We got ready to head to the venue about 20 kilometres out of Nagpur.
The final regroup before the venue was just at the turn off to the site.RTMC riders from every direction (5 from Chattishgarh, one from Kolkata, late starters from Bangalore etc.) were syncing up at the hotel and out on the road. We thought that the venue was right there.
What we did not know at the time was that there were about 5 kilometres of dirt road to the place. One hell of an approach. The guys who got ahead, and I think it was Ravi and Prashanth, left the rest of us nicely coated with dust. All in good fun.
Once we reached, the joining formalities were outside the venue. We had to wait to get this done and then proceed inside. But, on the other hand, it was a good chance to meet up people we were seeing after a while.
BOBMC RiderMania 2016 Photos – Venue
The venue was pretty much a large field with tents lined up. Lots of multiple sharing tents and a few couple only tents. The temperatures in Nagpur were well into the single digits. 6C if I remember right. After a day of riding through the Telangana heat, this felt like freezing.
The dust and fog made for pretty pictures. But, the dust did get into every nook and cranny of every person. The guys on bikes making circles in the sand raising dust for no apparent reason did not help either. The stage setup looked great in the night. Raised expectations of what was to come the following nights.
The stalls on one side and the grass on the other looked great in the night. Raksha, Prashanth and I made a couple of rounds of it. I thought of picking up a leather jacket from the stall there. I dropped the idea eventually since everything was covered by dust.
The only thing I bought was a DIRTSACK Ranger waist pouch to protect the DSLR. More of a necessity than a want. The stitches on it were coming off in more than one place. But, they had the only one piece. Oh well.
BOBMC RiderMania 2016 photos – Day 2
The next day was more of the same. Since RTMC was planning to pitch for the 2017 BoBMC RiderMania, there was a special edition T-shirt made with that.
Mostly spending time till the moon rose in the sky, darkness descended and the crazies come out. Here are some pictures from the events over the two days. I’ll say 2.5 stars out of 5, maybe we expected more.
Dirt Track – Racing Royal Enfields
The final day had the dirt track events. It was good watching some decent action. The kids from Kerala won the event, I do not have the specifics. Nicely done track had a little bit of elevation changes that made it easier to watch. I perched myself on the top of the course for most part of it.

The dust had been so bad over the last few days, the motorcycles were caked with it. A paint scheme like mine which is a matte black suffered. But, not as bad as the some of the custom painted ones.
Over the next couple of days, it would be the long ride back to Bangalore. The food left my stomach upset, making the prospect of the road longer. Stocked up with tissue paper and bottles for the night. Later!
